Public Night Market Pattani

Nightly street-food run by Pattani Central Mosque: halal grills, khao yam, roti with curry, fruit shakes. Cheap eats (฿40–80), plastic tables, friendly vendors. Go 6–9pm when everything’s sizzling.

About

If you’re hungry in central Pattani, head to the Public Night Market (talat to-rung) by the Central Mosque on Yarang Road. From late afternoon the grills kick off and the air fills with charcoal and spice. Dozens of carts turn out halal southern Thai staples and easy snacks—perfect if you’re staying nearby or rolling through town around dinner. Start with khao yam, a fragrant southern rice salad tossed with herbs, toasted coconut and a punchy fish-based dressing. Follow with roti—either crisp and sweet with banana and condensed milk, or torn into a bowl of rich chicken or beef curry. You’ll also find skewers hot off the coals, fried chicken, satay, noodle soups, and a spread of Malay–Thai sweets. Fresh fruit shakes are blended to order. Expect most plates in the 40–80 THB range (~$1.10–$2.20); skewers and snacks run cheaper. Practical bits: come 6pm–9pm for the fullest line-up and easiest seating at the plastic tables; bring small bills. The market hugs the streets around Pattani Central Mosque, so be respectful with dress and noise. Motorbikes are the easiest way to park up; if you’re on foot, use the mosque as your landmark and follow your nose. Last checked March 2026.
