Pak Khlong Talat (Flower Market)
About
Bangkok’s 24-hour flower market runs along Chak Phet Road by Memorial Bridge in the Old City. Go late: midnight to 4am is peak, when trucks roll in and the lanes fill with marigolds, orchids, and lotus buds for temple offerings. From Khao San, it’s a 10-minute taxi or a Chao Phraya boat to Yodpiman Pier (N6.5).
Expect aunties hand-stringing jasmine garlands, monks shopping at dawn, and wholesale bundles stacked head-high. It’s inexpensive, super photogenic, and very local. Floors get wet, so wear closed shoes, and bring small bills. Coffee and grilled pork skewers appear around 1am.
