Maya Square

Walk out to the forecourt of MAYA Lifestyle Shopping Center and you’ll find Maya Square — the open-air plaza right on the Rin Kham intersection, where Nimmanhaemin meets Huay Kaew. By day it’s a roomy spot to catch your breath between shops; by evening it turns into a lively stage for pop-up markets, brand activations and community events. Visit around 6pm when the heat eases and the lights come on. On weekends and during festivals, expect live DJs or dance shows, street-food stalls, and local makers selling everything from graphic tees to Chiang Mai snacks. In April, the square is a splash zone for Songkran — one of the city’s most energetic water-fight areas. Practical bit: it’s directly in front of MAYA (55/5 Huay Kaew Rd, Chang Phueak), across from One Nimman. Free entry, easy to reach by Grab or a quick songthaew ride from the Old City. If nothing’s scheduled, it’s still a good meet-up point before heading up to a rooftop bar or exploring Nimman’s side streets. Last verified March 2026.
