It’s plastic chairs, cold beers, and the kind of casual dinner that turns into a long, people-watching session as performers rotate on stage. Shopping here leans local. Hill-tribe artisans sell hand‑woven scarves, silver jewelry, bamboo crafts, and small souvenirs that actually feel made in the north. Prices are fair, and a friendly bit of bargaining is normal. Weekends bring more energy and more stalls; if you’re here on Saturday, the nearby Walking Street spills through Thanalai Road and pairs perfectly with a pre- or post-browse meal at the bazaar. Practical tip: arrive around 6:30–7pm as vendors finish setting up, then aim for a table near the stage if you want the show, or tucked at the edge if you prefer conversation. The Clock Tower is a 5-minute walk away if you’re making a loop of the old center.
