CAT 'n' A CUP Cat Cafe
Air‑conned cat hangout by the Chiang Rai Clock Tower. Order a drink to enter, then meet friendly rescues padding along the overhead “cat highway.” Think matcha lattes, frappes, and blueberry cheesecake. Open daily 10:30am–8pm.
About
Right in the city center by the Chiang Rai Clock Tower, CAT ’n’ A CUP is the cat café locals actually use for a coffee break, not just a photo op. Order at the counter, then step through to the lounge where a dozen-plus resident cats pad across an overhead “cat highway,” nap on window ledges, and—if you’re lucky—curl up in your lap. The room is cool, clean, and remarkably odor-free, with soft music and plenty of low tables and floor cushions so you can settle in without disturbing the felines.
Drinks run from proper espresso to matcha lattes and Thai milk tea, plus frappes and sweet things from the cake fridge—blueberry cheesecake is a crowd favorite. You can buy a small cup of treats at the counter to make new furry friends, but the staff keep feeding times sensible and the cats clearly come first. It’s a relaxed, happy space where families, students, and cat people of all ages mingle quietly over iced coffees and purring company.
Find it on Phaholyothin Road, a few steps from the Clock Tower. It’s an easy stop between temples or while waiting out an afternoon shower. Daily 10:30am–8pm; expect it to be liveliest mid‑afternoon when the cats wake from their naps.
