Krabi

Krabi province is Andaman coast limestone at its most dramatic — karst towers erupting from emerald water, mangrove channels, and some of southern Thailand's best beaches. Railay Beach, only accessible by long-tail boat, is the crown jewel: sheer cliffs, world-class rock climbing, and a castaway atmosphere. Ao Nang is the more developed beach town with ferry connections to the islands, while Tubkaek Beach to the north is quieter and looks straight out at the Hong Islands.

Offshore, Koh Phi Phi needs no introduction — Maya Bay (of "The Beach" fame) has reopened with visitor limits and is more pristine than it's been in decades. The Four Islands tour hits Koh Poda, Chicken Island, and Tup Island for snorkeling and beach time. Koh Lanta, further south, is the laid-back alternative: long beaches, reggae bars, and a Chao Ley (sea gypsy) old town. Back on the mainland, the Emerald Pool (Sa Morakot) and Hot Springs in Khlong Thom are popular half-day trips, and the Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea) rewards a brutal 1,237-step climb with panoramic views.
