Mackenzie Country Hotel

Formerly: MacKenzie Country Inn

  • Mackenzie Country Hotel is a comfortable, country-styled hotel built from the natural stone of this unique countryside, combining genuine hospitality and a superb location. Located just off the main road in picturesque Twizel, the Aoraki Mount Cook National Park is right on your doorstep, and many of the 108 rooms offer unbroken views of this stunning mountain range. Aside from the fantastic views and attentive service, the hotel offers tastefully decorated rooms and suites with all the amenities of a modern 3-star hotel. The Aoraki Mount Cook National Park itself is home to New Zealand's highest mountain and encompasses over 70,000 hectares of pristine wilderness, including glaciers, torrential rivers, temperate forest, and numerous snow-capped mountain peaks. It was this area that the great battle scenes of Pelennor Fields in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy were filmed, though the area is infinitely more impressive in real life.
