Muang Khoun Historical Park

Muang Khoun Historical Park is located in the Xiangkhoang Province of Laos, approximately 20 kilometers east of the city of Phonsavan. The park is situated at an altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level and covers an area of 15 hectares.

History

Muang Khoun was once the capital of the Xieng Khouang Kingdom and was an important center of political, economic and cultural activity in the region. The town was destroyed during the Indochina War and only a few ruins remain today.
