
Shinhotaka Ropeway in Takayama Area
The Shinhotaka Ropeway is a popular tourist attraction located in the Takayama area of Nagano, Nagano, Japan. It is one of the most scenic ropeways in Japan, offering breathtaking views of the Northern Japan Alps. The ropeway consists of two sections, the first section takes you to the Nabedaira Kogen highland, and the second section takes you to the peak of Mt. Hotaka.
How to get there
- By train: Take the JR Takayama Line to Hirayu Onsen Station, then take the Nohi Bus to Shinhotaka Ropeway.
- By car: From Takayama, take Route 158 towards Hirayu Onsen, then follow the signs to Shinhotaka Ropeway.
Operating hours and fees
- Operating hours: 9:00am - 4:30pm (varies depending on the season)
- Round-trip ticket: 2,900 yen for adults, 1,450 yen for children
- One-way ticket: 1,800 yen for adults, 900 yen for children
Please note that the ropeway may close in case of bad weather or maintenance.
