About the Museum

The National Museum of Natural Science is a science museum located in the Fongyuan District area of Taichung, Taichung City, Taiwan. It was established in 1986 and covers an area of 22 acres. The museum has a wide range of exhibits related to natural science, including astronomy, ecology, geology, and more.

The museum is divided into six main exhibition halls:

  • The Space Science Hall
  • The Human Cultures Hall
  • The Life Science Hall
  • The Global Environment Hall
  • The Science Center
  • The Botanical Garden

Each hall has its own unique exhibits and interactive displays that make learning about science fun for visitors of all ages.

Getting There

The National Museum of Natural Science is located at No. 1, Guancian Road, Fongyuan District, Taichung City, Taiwan. The approximate latitude and longitude of the museum is 24.2313° N, 120.6654° E.

The museum can be easily reached by public transportation. Visitors can take a bus or taxi from Taichung Railway Station. The museum is also accessible by the Taichung Metro Green Line, with the nearest station being Fongyuan Station.

Opening Hours and Admission Fees

The National Museum of Natural Science is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The museum is closed on Mondays, except for national holidays and summer vacation (July and August).

Admission fees are as follows:

  • Adults: NT$250
  • Students: NT$150
  • Children (under 6): Free

The museum also offers discounts for groups of 20 or more people.
