Korakuen Garden

Korakuen Garden is a beautiful traditional Japanese garden located in the Kita Ward area of Okayama, Japan. It is one of the three great gardens of Japan, along with Kenrokuen Garden in Kanazawa and Kairakuen Garden in Mito.

The garden was built in 1700 by Ikeda Tsunamasa, the feudal lord of Okayama, and was completed in 1709. It covers an area of about 13 hectares and features a large pond, several streams, walking paths, and various buildings and structures.

One of the most impressive features of Korakuen Garden is the Enyo-tei, a large wooden building that was once used for tea ceremonies and other events. It is situated on a small island in the middle of the pond and offers stunning views of the garden.

Other notable structures in the garden include the Rokkaku-do, a hexagonal hall that was used for moon-viewing parties, and the Yushin-an, a small tea house that was built in the early 18th century.

The garden is also home to a variety of plant and animal life, including cherry trees, plum trees, lotus flowers, and koi fish.
