He started collecting at a young age and continued to do so throughout his life. In 1992, he established the Chimei Museum Foundation to promote art and culture in Taiwan. The museum officially opened in 1992 and has since become one of the most popular museums in Taiwan.


The museum's collection is vast and diverse, with over 40,000 pieces of art and artifacts. Some of the highlights include:

Visiting Information

The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. Admission is NT$ 250 for adults and NT$ 150 for students and seniors. Children under 6 years old are free. Guided tours are available in English, Chinese, and Japanese. The museum is easily accessible by public transport, with buses and trains stopping nearby.
