Wat Upakhut

Wat Upakhut is a small Lanna temple just off Chang Klan Road in Chiang Mai’s Night Bazaar area—about a 2-minute walk from the stalls. It’s the easiest reset button around: free entry, shade, and the soft scent of incense when the market gets hectic. Expect a compact chedi and a dark-wood viharn with clean northern detailing; nearby shopkeepers and office workers slip in to make merit. Go early, before 10am, for gentle light and a calm courtyard, then dive back into bargaining. Dress modestly and leave your shoes at the steps.
