About
A royal temple at the heart of Yasothon, Wat Si Thammaram sits on Withayathamrong Road in Nai Mueang, a short stroll from the City Pillar Shrine. Locals come to pay respects to Luang Pho Phra Suk, a revered Lan Xang–style Buddha image that’s tied to the province’s origin stories and enduring faith.
Walk in and the noise of town drops away into a quiet courtyard, shaded by old trees and edged with bright-gold gables and clean white chedis. Incense drifts from the main hall as families make merit, and you’ll often catch a breeze moving across the open grounds—simple, serene, unmistakably Isan.
It’s an easy cultural stop if you’re exploring Yasothon or passing through during Rocket Festival season. Dress modestly, remove your shoes before entering the halls, and take your time—free entry, donations welcome. Last checked: current season.
