Wat Phutthaisawan

Wat Phutthaisawan sits on the riverbank south of the old island, reachable by a short boat ride or longer road route. Legend says this is where the first king of Ayutthaya was crowned in 1351. The main prang is substantial and the grounds are peaceful, with far fewer visitors than the central ruins. The riverside setting is photogenic.
