Wat Photi Samphan

Na Kluea’s quiet temple escape with a striking yellow ubosot. Ride a songthaew toward Naklua/Wongamat, step in barefoot, and watch locals make merit. Free to wander with donation boxes — an easy add-on to Wongamat Beach or the Sanctuary of Truth.

About

Slip off the main Pattaya–Naklua Road and you’ll find Wat Phothisamphan (Wat Photi Samphan), a working Na Kluea temple where the pace drops a few gears. The standout is its sunny yellow ubosot (ordination hall), bright against the palms and chedis. You’ll hear temple bells and low monk chants drift across the courtyard, with locals stopping by to light incense and make merit. Come early or late afternoon for softer light and cooler air. There’s no formal ticket window here — just donation boxes near the halls — so take your time to wander the grounds respectfully, shoes off at the thresholds and shoulders/knees covered. It’s an easy hop on a beach-side songthaew heading toward Naklua/Wongamat; ask to stop for “Wat Phothisamphan” on Pattaya–Naklua Road near Soi Photisan. If you’re exploring the north side of town, pair a visit with Wongamat Beach or the Sanctuary of Truth, both a quick ride away. Wat Phothisamphan is one of those Pattaya resets: a calm local corner with classic temple lines, bright murals, and a community school next door reminding you this is a living place, not just a photo stop.
