Wat Phan On

Small but striking, Wat Phan On is an Old City pause button: a mirror-bright golden chedi, a simple wooden viharn, and a shady courtyard just off the Sunday Walking Street route. It’s an easy stop while wandering Ratchadamnoen. Free entry; dress modestly and drop a few coins in the donation box. Swing by late afternoon for warm light on the stupa and fewer tour groups; it’s calmer than the big hitters nearby. On Sunday night the grounds double as a great food court—khao soi 50–60 THB, grilled sai ua 40 THB, fruit shakes 30–40 THB.
