Wat Pang Lo is a neighborhood temple in Mae Hong Son Center, less visited than the lakeside temples but worth the detour. The ordination hall features classic Shan-Burmese architecture — multi-tiered pyathat roof with carved wood details and a quiet courtyard.
Monks here run occasional meditation sessions open to visitors. The grounds are shaded by old trees and almost always empty of tourists. If you want to see a working community temple without the photo crowds, this is it. Free entry.
