Wat Lokaya Sutha is home to Ayutthaya's massive outdoor reclining Buddha, a 42-meter figure lying on its side in an open field. The image is striking against the sky with no building around it — the original viharn was destroyed. Locals leave saffron robes draped over the figure. The scale is impressive and the open setting makes for dramatic photos.
