Wat Chai Mongkol

Slip out of the Night Bazaar and into Wat Chai Mongkol, a serene riverside temple just east toward the Ping River. The gilded hall and naga-lined steps make a striking pause between haggle sessions. Free entry; donation boxes sit by the main viharn. The Mae Ping river-cruise pier is right beside the grounds if you want to pair a visit with a float. Come in the late afternoon for softer light and monk chanting, or during Loy Krathong when krathong drift from the temple steps. Dress modestly (shoulders/knees covered). Easy walk from Chang Khlan and Loi Kroh.
