Velo Café @Khao Ta Keab

Beach-adjacent specialty coffee at Khao Takiab. Velo’s Khao Ta Keab outpost pours tidy espressos and slow-bar brews from house-roasted beans—try an affogato or piccolo after a sunrise walk up Monkey Mountain. Open 8am–4pm, closed Wed.

About

Velo Café @Khao Ta Keab brings Hua Hin’s favorite coffee name to the beach side of Khao Takiab. Step in from the salt air and you’ll catch the aroma of freshly ground beans before you spot the La Marzocco on the counter and the baristas dialing in shots. It’s a compact, breezy spot on Takiab Road, a few minutes from the base of Monkey Mountain, ideal for a pre- or post-beach caffeine fix. Regulars come for clean, well-pulled espressos and a careful slow bar. Velo is known around town for house-roasted beans and thoughtful pours, so you can expect a solid flat white alongside pour-overs that highlight Thai and seasonal single origins. If you want something sweet and cold, order the affogato; if you’re keeping it small, a tidy piccolo hits the spot. Non‑coffee drinkers aren’t left out—there’s usually tea and a couple of easygoing sippers—and a few pastries to pair when they’ve got them. Practicalities: it’s roughly a 10–15 minute ride south from central Hua Hin; look for “ถนนตะเกียบ” (Takiab Road). Doors open early at 8am and they wrap by 4pm; Wednesday is the rest day. Swing by after a sunrise walk to the hilltop temple or between beach sessions when the midday heat kicks in.
