Pattani’s classic day market on Ruedee Rd: morning crates of greens and gulf fish, spice pastes, plus racks of everyday clothes and sandals. Best 5am–noon; open Tue, Wed, Fri, Sun.
About
If you want to see Pattani wake up, start at Talat Thetsawiwat 1 — the city’s classic day market on Thanon Rue-Dee (ถนนฤาดี). By 5am the arcades are humming: baskets of chilies and limes, fish on ice hauled in from the gulf, the warm scent of fresh curry pastes, and vendors calling regulars by name. It’s everyday southern Thailand — practical, friendly, and wonderfully photogenic without trying.
Walk the aisles for the essentials locals actually buy: leafy vegetables and herbs, stacks of eggs, dried anchovies and spices, fresh tofu, and simple cooked dishes to take home. On the clothing side you’ll find racks of T‑shirts, sarongs, school uniforms, and piles of no‑nonsense sandals — prices are local, and bargaining stays polite.
Come early for the best produce and a snack breakfast, then circle back in the late morning when the clothing stalls are fully set. The market runs roughly 5am–5pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday (closed Monday, Thursday, Saturday). It’s right in downtown Pattani, easy to pair with a stroll through the old streets nearby. Hours last checked May 2026.
