The three season tour, Nature Treks
Real Mae Hong Son trekking with Karen guides: day hikes from ~800 THB, bamboo rafting on the Pai, and 2–3 day village overnights. Office by Jong Kham lake; drop in 9am–8pm or call to plan your route, especially in cool season (Nov–Feb).
About
Mae Hong Son is where Thailand’s mountains still feel wild, and this small, long-running outfit is one of the few that keeps trekking here honest. The guides are Karen locals who grew up on these trails, and it shows — they read the forest like a map, point out edible shoots and medicinal leaves, and move at a pace that suits you. Expect proper jungle: teak and evergreen, bird call at dawn, leeches in the rainy months, and waterfalls that reward the sweat.
Day trips get you out to ridge walks and bamboo rafting on the Pai River, back in town in time for the night market. If you’ve got the time, go slow: two- and three-day treks add village overnights in stilt houses and campfire dinners with sticky rice and simple curries. As of March 2026, day hikes start around 800 THB, and itineraries are tailored to fitness and season rather than sold as cookie‑cutter packages.
The office sits just off Jong Kham Lake in Mae Hong Son Center, an easy stroll from the temples and morning market. Swing by between 9am and 8pm or call ahead — in cool, dry season (November–February) it’s smart to book a day in advance; the rest of the year you can usually organize a trek for the next morning. Come for the views; stay for the easygoing crew who know these hills better than any app ever will.
