The Monkey Road Sign

A yellow diamond-shaped road sign on Railay warning drivers about monkeys — except there are no roads on Railay. That's the joke, and it's become one of the peninsula's most photographed spots. The sign sits along the walking path between East and West Railay, and yes, the monkeys it warns about are absolutely real and present in large numbers. It's a quick photo stop, nothing more. But the sign has become a minor landmark and you'll see it referenced in every other Railay trip report. The monkeys in the area will happily photobomb your shot while sizing up whether your bag contains anything worth stealing.
