This French-run guesthouse and bar on Lonely Beach combines a petanque court, Thai food, and a distinctly Gallic attitude toward leisure. The boules court is free for customers — grab a pastis (they actually stock it) and play a few rounds while your pad thai arrives. Rooms upstairs start around 600 baht.
The Thai food is cooked by a Thai kitchen team and is genuinely good, not the watered-down-for-farang version. The French owner presides over the bar like a village mayor. It's eccentric and specific in the best way.
