Tew Lay Bar
Railay’s mellow sunset bar at the far end of East Railay: bamboo decks and hammocks over mangroves, front‑row views of limestone cliffs and longtails. Cold beers, fruit shakes, simple Thai plates, and unfussy cocktails. Open daily 9am–12am; go for golden hour.
About
At the quiet far end of Railay East, Tew Lay Bar is the sunset perch you hear about after a day on the cliffs. Bamboo decks and low tables spill out over the mangroves, with hammocks and floor cushions facing the Andaman. Longtail boats drift past and the limestone walls glow orange — it’s the view you came to Krabi for. Arrive around 5:30–6:00pm to snag a front‑row cushion and let golden hour do its thing.
The menu is simple and hits the spot: icy fruit shakes and fresh coconuts, cold beers, and easy Thai plates — pad thai, fried rice, curries — plus unfussy cocktails built for sundowners. Service runs on island time; order, kick off your sandals, and sink into the soundtrack of low‑key reggae and soft chatter. It’s more mellow than manic — couples, climbers, and sandy‑footed day‑trippers swap stories between photo ops in the bamboo “nests.”
Getting here is part of the charm. From Railay East pier it’s a 10‑minute stroll north along the waterside path; from Ao Nam Mao, it’s a 10–15‑minute longtail ride across the bay. They open from 9am and wind down around midnight daily (hours last checked March 2026). Come for the light show, stay for the easy vibe — and don’t rush off when the sun dips; the sky keeps changing for another half hour.
