Sampheng Grand Plaza
Wholesale treasure trove on Sampeng Lane: neon wigs, anime wallets, party props and craft bits by the bundle. Best early, cash preferred. Find it at 308 Soi Wanit 1 in Chinatown.
About
Tucked into Sampeng Lane (Soi Wanit 1) in Chinatown, Sampheng Grand Plaza is where Bangkok’s shop owners and crafty types come to stock up. Step through the doors and you’re met with aisles of wigs in every neon shade, racks of cosplay-ready accessories, and baskets of anime-print wallets that spill onto the walkway. It’s fluorescent-lit, fast-moving, and addictive if you love a bargain.
Most units here sell at wholesale-friendly prices when you buy a few pieces, so it’s easy to walk out with bags of hair clips, party props, ribbons, beads, and phone cases for less than you’d pay at the big malls. Expect small items from around 10–50 THB, with bundles cutting the cost further. Go early if you can — mornings see fresh stock and cooler air before the lane heats up.
You’ll find the plaza at 308 Soi Wanit 1 in Chakkrawat, a short hop from Yaowarat Road and an easy taxi ride from Khao San. Bring cash (many stalls still prefer it) and a bit of patience — the corridors are narrow and cartons are everywhere — but that’s part of the charm. If you’re hunting for party supplies, fashion trimmings, or a last-minute wig before a night on Khao San, this is where locals actually buy them. (Details last checked March 2026.)
