Pattani Central Mosque

Pattani’s landmark mosque with domes, minarets, and a mirror‑calm reflecting pool on Yarang Road. Best at sunset; dress modestly. Open daily 5am–9pm.

About

Pattani’s signature landmark rises on Yarang Road with a sweep of domes, slender minarets, and a long reflecting pool that doubles the view at golden hour. Built in the mid‑20th century and still the spiritual heart of the city, the Central Mosque anchors Anoru with the call to prayer and a calm forecourt where families gather and kids ride past on bicycles. Walk up the broad steps and you’ll see Moorish‑influenced arches, cool stone underfoot, and a symmetrical façade that looks superb from across the water. Photographers time it for sunset when the sky turns sherbet and the lights come on, casting perfect mirror images in the pool. Fridays draw the biggest crowds; outside prayer times the forecourt is relaxed and visitors are welcome to take in the architecture—just dress modestly and remove your shoes before stepping inside. Practical tip: it’s right on Yarang Road in Anoru. Published hours are 5:00am–9:00pm daily, but go earlier or later for softer light and cooler air. If you’re exploring the south, this is the photo you’ll bring home from Pattani.
