Patt Market

Bangkok’s thrift motherlode on Nawamin: stacks of denim, vintage tees, sneakers and quirky homeware at reseller-friendly prices. Open daily 7am–9pm; go early for the good stuff. About 30–45 minutes from Khao San by taxi, traffic permitting.

About

Bangkok’s biggest thrift hunt lives out in Nawamin at Pattavikorn Market’s “New Project” — a sprawling maze of second‑hand stalls where cargo sacks are split open and fresh drops hit the tables all day. Expect mountains of denim, vintage tees, workwear, military jackets, sneakers, bags, housewares and plenty of glorious oddities you didn’t know you needed. Go early if you want first pick — resellers and fashion students comb the racks from morning — or swing by late afternoon when the heat eases and sellers start cutting deals. Haggling is fine within reason. Bring small bills, be ready to dig, and don’t be shy about a quick rinse-and-wear find. There are easy food fixes around the lanes (iced coffee, moo ping, noodles) and shaded spots to catch your breath. It’s a haul from Khao San, but worth a dedicated run: figure about 30–45 minutes by taxi depending on traffic to Nawamin Road in Bueng Kum. The market is open daily from 7am to 9pm, and weekends feel livelier. If you’re chasing character pieces on a backpacker budget, this is where Bangkok’s treasure hunters play.
