Mont NomSod
Bangkok’s cult toast shop on Dinso Road, steps from the Giant Swing. Order thick-cut toast or pillowy steamed bread with warm pandan (sangkaya) custard and an icy fresh milk. Queues build after dinner but move fast. Open daily 1pm–10pm.
About
Mont NomSod is the classic milk-and-toast stop on Dinso Road, a few steps from the Giant Swing (Sao Ching Cha) and Wat Suthat—about a 15-minute walk from Khao San Road. Go straight for the thick-cut toast loaded with pandan sangkhaya, condensed milk, or chocolate, then chase it with cold fresh milk or Thai tea.
You’ll queue with students and office workers, but the line moves fast and seats turn over quickly. Simple, fluorescent-lit, and proudly old-school—most grab take-away and wander the Old Town. Aim for late afternoon or post-dinner when it’s busiest but fun; it’s cheap, comforting, and very Thai.
