Mont NomSod
The Dinso Road institution for late-night sweet tooths: thick-cut toast with condensed milk, steamed bread with pandan custard, and icy Thai tea. Daily 1pm–10pm, two minutes from the Giant Swing; expect a queue after 7pm but it moves fast.
About
Bangkok’s original toast-and-milk shrine lives on Dinso Road, a short stroll from the Giant Swing and 10 minutes from Khao San. Bright lights, clatter of trays, and the sweet, toasty smell of butter pull you in. Order at the counter, grab a number, and watch stacks of golden toast fly across the grill while blenders whip Thai tea and fresh milk.
Regulars go straight for thick-cut toast drenched in condensed milk, butter and sugar, or Thai tea spread; the steamed bread with warm pandan custard is a local favorite if you want something softer. Balance the sugar hit with a cold glass of fresh milk—plain or chocolate—or a strong cha yen (Thai iced tea). Portions are small enough to mix and match.
It’s an easy dessert stop after dinner in the Old Town. Doors open at 1pm and the rush starts around 7–9pm, but the line moves quickly and tables turn fast. If you’re staying near Khao San, it’s a flat walk down Dinso Road past Democracy Monument; look for the steady queue and the green-and-white sign.
