Local Night Food Court

About

A no-frills night food court a few minutes’ walk from Khao San, this is where cooks work woks at full throttle, fans hum over plastic tables, and plates land fast. Come hungry after 6pm and graze: pick a stall, grab a seat, and watch your dinner hit the fire right in front of you. Regulars go straight for the Thai comfort hits — pad kra pao with a runny fried egg, tom yum or boat noodles in small punchy bowls, crisp hoy tod (oyster omelette), or chicken rice if you need something gentle after a big night. Som tam pounded to order sits next to grills smoking moo ping pork skewers. Wash it down with iced tea or a fresh juice. Expect street prices: most plates run 50–80 THB, skewers 10–20 THB, drinks 20–40 THB. It’s casual and quick, with mixed seating under tarps and umbrellas. English is limited but menus usually have photos; just point and smile. Cash only. Go around 7–10pm for the best energy, or swing by late when the Khao San bars empty out — a hot stir-fry at midnight tastes even better.
