Klong Tob Beach

Small, quiet cove between Klong Khong and Klong Nin with sand-and-rock shoreline, tide pools, and mellow sunset vibes. A couple of rustic restaurants on the rocks; best for a swim at mid‑tide—bring reef shoes.

About

Tucked between Klong Khong and Klong Nin on Koh Lanta’s west coast, Klong Tob is a pocket-sized cove with a sand-and-rock shoreline and big-sky sunset views. A short turn off Route 4245 drops you to a quiet strip where the sea shelves gently and the soundtrack is more clinking ice than beach clubs. At low tide, shallow pools form between the rocks; at mid to high tide you can float just off the shore with hardly another soul around. A couple of low-key bungalow resorts and family-run Thai restaurants perch on the rocks, serving simple seafood, coconut curries, and cold beers to a mellow crowd of couples, long-stayers, and locals who prefer a quieter swim. It’s not the best spot on the island for long laps—that’s Klong Nin up the road—but when the sea is calm you can snorkel the rocky edges or just sink into a sunset drink as the sky turns peach. Practicalities: look for signs for “Khlong Toab” off Highway 4245; it’s about a 20-minute scooter ride south from Saladan Pier. There’s little natural shade at midday, so bring a hat, water, and reef shoes if you’re exploring the rocks. In the green season (May–Oct), expect stronger waves and fewer open venues; dry season brings glassier water and that famously lazy Lanta pace.
