Khlong Chao Lueam Waterfall

Northern Ko Chang’s low-key cascade near Klong Son—multi-tiered, shaded, and flowing year‑round. Ride 4 km inland, walk the last stretch, and cool off among jungle rock pools. Best after rain; trail gets slick. Open 8am–5pm.

About

Tucked into the northern hills of Ko Chang, Khlong Chao Lueam (often called Klong Son Waterfall) is a quiet, jungle-framed cascade a short ride inland from Klong Son village. The approach is classic island forest: cicadas, birdsong, the smell of damp leaves, and dappled light on smooth granite as the stream steps down through the trees. This is a series of smaller tiers rather than one big drop, which is exactly why locals come—more shade, more rock ledges to perch on, and far fewer people than the headline falls down south. The water runs year-round, with its best flow after rains. In the wet season the path can get slick, so take your time and enjoy the soundtrack of running water instead of rushing it. Getting there is straightforward: head 4 km inland from Klong Son along Ban Khlong Son Road and follow the narrow road until it peters out at the forest edge, then continue on foot. Aim for a morning or late-afternoon visit when the heat eases. Wear shoes with grip, bring water, and keep an eye on footing after heavy rain. The gate closes at 5pm.
