Khao Khanab Nam

Krabi’s postcard view: twin limestone cliffs on the river, reached by longtail from Chao Fah Pier. Explore caves with stalactites, spot cheeky macaques, and catch golden-hour reflections. Boats ~500 THB per trip (as of 2026) — best value if you share.

About

Khao Khanab Nam is the twin-limestone gateway to Krabi Town — two sheer karst towers rising out of the Krabi River with caves at their base and mangroves all around. From the riverside promenade (by the Mud Crab sculpture), you’ll spot them straight ahead framing the skyline. Getting here is half the fun: hire a longtail boat from Chao Fah Pier for a breezy 15‑minute ride through the mangroves. Most skippers will include a cave stop — look for dripping stalactites, a “giant skeleton” diorama, and roaming macaques along the boardwalk outside. Bring decent shoes and a small torch if you want to poke around the darker chambers. Boats commonly charge around 500 THB per boat for a short loop (last checked 2026), with room for a small group, so it’s good value if you’re sharing. Aim for golden hour for glassy river reflections and softer light on the cliffs. If you have extra time, pair the trip with a stop on Ko Klang for handicrafts and rice paddies, then drift back to town for seafood on Khongkha Road. Simple, scenic, and very Krabi.
