Kafak Hua Hin
Steamed bread with silky pandan or Thai tea custard is the move at this Hua Hin dessert bar. Open 2pm–9:30pm (closed Tue) on Phetkasem Rd — perfect post–night market sugar fix with iced Thai tea and toast.
About
Kafak is Hua Hin’s after-dinner sweet spot — a modern Chinese-style milk-and-toast bar on Phetkasem Road turning out steamed bread with thick, fragrant sangkhaya (Thai custard). You smell warm pandan and Thai tea as the steamers hiss and trays of toast slide across the counter. It’s simple, nostalgic, and very Thai — done with care.
Start with the steamed bread set and choose your dip: classic pandan or Thai tea custard. Both are silky and just sweet enough; regulars order a double with one of each. If you prefer a little crunch, go for toasted bread with butter and condensed milk, then chase it with an iced Thai milk tea or cocoa. Portions are sized for sharing, and most tables build a mini dessert spread.
Doors open from 2pm, a handy stop when the sun is high, but the place really hits its stride after dinner as locals, families, and Bangkok weekender crews roll in. It’s right in town on Phetkasem Road, handy to the night market, so expect a bit of a wait in the evening — service is quick once you’re seated. Closed every Tuesday; last orders around 9:30pm.
