Fisherman's Village Night Market
Bophut’s Friday walking street, 5pm–11pm: Beach Road fills with grills, cocktails, coconut ice cream, and better‑than‑usual crafts. Start near The Wharf, eat as you wander, and slip to the sand for sunset when the lanes get packed.
About
Friday night is when Fisherman’s Village flips the switch. From 5pm the Beach Road through Bophut turns into a walking street lined with sizzling grills, fresh coconuts, hand‑mixed mojitos, and rows of stalls selling Thai snacks, spices, and easy‑to-pack souvenirs. The sea is just a few steps away, so you get salty air mixing with the smell of grilled squid and pandan waffles while a steady stream of locals, expats, and island‑hoppers drifts by.
Start at The Wharf end and wander east along the beachfront lane. You’ll find everything from pad thai and mango sticky rice to coconut ice cream served in shells. Crafts are better than average here: batik, teak bowls, soaps, and beachwear that isn’t all neon. Prices are fair and haggling is low‑key. Bring small cash for street bites and drinks; most sit‑down restaurants and bars along the sand take cards.
Go early for elbow room and golden light over Koh Phangan; by 7–9pm it’s shoulder‑to‑shoulder and full party mode. When you need a breather, duck onto the beach for a sunset beer or grab a table at one of the shorefront restaurants and watch the parade go by. It’s the easiest big night market on Samui to combine with dinner and a beach walk. (Hours last checked March 2026.)
