Coral Moo beach
A 300‑meter sweep of white sand on Phi Phi Don’s east coast, Loh Moo Dee stays blissfully quiet before lunch. Come for sunrise and high tide, snorkel the reef off the rocks, and bring water—facilities are minimal. About 10–15 minutes by longtail from Tonsai.
About
Slip around to Phi Phi Don’s east coast and you’ll find a quiet 300‑meter crescent of pale sand and clear, glassy water. Known to locals as Loh Moo Dee, it’s where you go when Ton Sai gets too loud and Long Beach feels busy. Jungle backs the shore, the sea is usually calm in the morning, and there’s often just enough shade to claim a spot and switch off.
Time it right and you’ll have it close to yourself: sunrise is gorgeous here, and the beach is best around high tide. At low tide the shallows stretch way out, so plan swims accordingly. Bring a mask for easy snorkeling along the rocky ends where the coral is livelier, reef‑safe sunscreen, and sandals for the odd coral chunk underfoot. Facilities are minimal (and can be seasonal), so don’t count on a shop—pack water and take your rubbish back with you.
Getting here is simple: it’s about 10–15 minutes by longtail from Tonsai Pier, and even shorter if you’re staying on Long Beach. Agree a pick‑up time with your boatman, as mobile signal can be patchy. By late morning a few day‑trip boats may swing by, but it calms again toward late afternoon. The vibe stays low‑key—couples, snorkelers, nap‑and‑read types—exactly the reset you wanted from Phi Phi.
