Chill Out Bar & Bungalow, Tonsai beach

The original Tonsai Beach hangout — a bar with basic bungalows attached, sitting right on the sand. Chill Out has been here since before Tonsai was on most travelers' radar. Beers are 70-90 baht, buckets around 200 baht, and the food is simple backpacker fare — fried rice, banana pancakes, pad thai. Bungalows out back start around 500-800 baht per night for a fan room. The bar runs fire shows most nights and the music stays on until late. This is ground zero for Tonsai's social scene — climbers comparing routes, backpackers extending stays that were supposed to be two nights, and travelers who arrived from Railay and decided the vibe here was better. It's rough, it's sandy, and it doesn't try to be anything else.
