Banzaan Fresh Market
Patong’s clean, lively fresh market behind Jungceylon: buy seafood downstairs, have it cooked upstairs for a small fee. Night market outside from late afternoon. Great for fruit shakes, Phuket lobster, and street eats. Open daily 6am–midnight, 74/51 Nanai Rd.
About
Patong’s go-to wet market sits just behind Jungceylon on Nanai Road, and it runs from early-morning fishmongers to late-night snacks. Downstairs is where the action starts: piles of Phuket lobsters on ice, live crabs clacking in baskets, herbs stacked high, and fruit vendors slicing fragrant pineapple and mango to order. It’s clean, bright, and easy to navigate even if it’s your first Thai market.
The signature move here is dinner DIY. Pick your seafood by weight on the ground floor, then carry it upstairs where the food court kitchens will cook it for a small fee—grilled with garlic and pepper, stir‑fried with chilies and basil, steamed with lime and lemongrass. Grab a plastic table, crack into giant prawns, and wash it down with a fresh coconut or a fruit shake. Outside from late afternoon, the night market pops up with skewers, roti, and all the sweet-and-savory street bites you came for.
Go early (6:00–10:00am) if you want the full market buzz and the best produce; head over around 5:00–9:00pm for dinner and the evening food stalls. It’s a short walk from Bangla Road, so it’s easy to swing by before or after the beach. Expect Patong prices rather than Phuket Town bargains, but the convenience and variety are hard to beat. Address: 74/51 Nanai Rd, Patong. Open daily 6am–midnight.
