Wheelchair Access
We
have had two interesting emails on the same theme... Alberto
writes: "Hi guys, I'm writing you from Italy, I'll be in BKK 28 November
and I'll stay 8 days, and later I'll j go to northern Thailand... I need more
precise information about lodging... I'm in a wheelchair but have been a traveler
for 40 years old. Do you know what guesthouses are really accessible by wheelchair?
Or if do you know where others in wheelchairs have lodged? Thanks in advance,
my best regards. Alberto Neri Italy". Hotwheels
asks: "Greetings, although I use a wheelchair could you mention the access
issue on KSR? I have traveled to 'the land of smiles' 6 times and visited KSR
many times, twice staying in your recommended hotels, but would appreciate your
inclusion of any wheelchair friendly cafes/bars in respect of entrance into and
toilet provision. Each time I am in Bangkok or KSR there seem to be more people
in wheelchairs and I still do not know which Wats are accessible to me. Cheers…
Blueskies; Hotwheels Fact is, we know little about the issue of disabled
access and we'd really appreciate some input from people who understand the issues
properly and have some information to pass on, or who can lead us in the right
direction. I have not seen anywhere on KSR that is specifically wheelchair friendly
(although Buddy lodge does have ramp access), but then again, I haven't been looking
(although I will be now!). If anyone can shed any light at all please let Alberto
and Hotwheels know, but let us know too! |
