Take a look at the recent meeting held at Sabah Cafe and Cinema regarding
Thailand's new immigration regulations
- a fascinating read!

This is a brilliant effort and well worthy of your support so get down there... Today!
5-year veteran of Thailand Sel and his girlfriend Rong have set up what we think is a genuinely nice place. It's early days yet, but it's already great. Sel's objective was to create a place where 'locals and travellers can meet to have a good meal, take in a decent movie, listen to some great sounds and sing a song if they feel like it.' He already seems to have achieved this - Sabah is a cozy little place just 10 minutes walk from Khao San Road.
The menu covers foreign food that's a cut above the rest. Thai food is also readily available. The breakfast is a great example... REAL sausages, REAL bacon and REAL scrambled eggs and omelets to name a few alongside a cup of premium REAL coffee! The rest of the menu checks out easily as well - they even make their own sugar free bread! Sabah has a MP3 jukebox with about 5000 songs, but if that's not enough, bring in your USB drive and play your own music. In the evening the relaxed cafe atmosphere phases into a lively venue to meet some locals over a few drinks. Live music kicks of with the legendary entertainer Sontya at around 8pm and continues too closing. "We had about 15 people in here the other night and not one left without singing a song," beamed Sel.
The bar is pragmatic - Singha (60 Baht - small bottle), Chang (50 Baht - small bottle), and Heineken (70 Baht - small bottle).. If all this wasn't enough, upstairs there's a chill zone for customers to veg and a full on cinema. Monty Python's - The Meaning of Life, A Clockwork Orange, The Killing Fields, Super Size Me, Pulp Fiction and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest fit in nicely alongside a smattering of Hollywood blockbusters. The cinema seats 5, with a 3m screen, Z4 projector, surround sound, lazyboys and regular daily screenings. If you come along 10-15 minutes after a film was due to start and nobody has turned up, you can choose what you want to watch and settle down. (Current Schedule)
Fully air-conditioned and excellent film quality, there are no half measures here... This is a great place to watch some cult classics and the blockbusters you've been missing while on the road. Contact Sabah using the form below. Opens all day till late.
