Meeting Places

Baiyoke Sky Hotel
222 Rajprarop Road,
Rajthevee
Bangkok

Hi - my name is Paul Cummings (age 35 from Perth Australia). I love Thailand. I respect all Thai People and I love your web site. Good Job. I would like to suggest you include information on the Baiyoke Sky Hotel. It rises 85 floors, 309m above the bedlam that is Pratanum Market. There is an observation deck on the top floor with a 360-degree revolving deck. A great place to get some scale of BKK. Price 120 baht. On the 77th floor you will find a buffet-style restaurant. Open 10.30 am -10.00pm M-F, weekends 9.30am-10.00pm Its definitely worth the time as you can include Pratanum Market and Panthip Plaza (computer geek heaven) on the same excursion:

Sounds like a good idea... Anyone else done this?

Centre Point
Siam Square

Over the last few years Center Point has been in the press for the wrong reasons. Known as a meeting place for teenagers, Center Point has been presented as a place where kids buy drugs, sell their bodies, and generally get up to no good. Having worked in Siam Square for a number of years, all I ever see them do is sit around staring at each other - unless of course they are drinking designer teas, coffees and juices bought from the various cafes scattered around Center Point. Aside from that they listen to bands at a sound stage at the back. Strictly for the young and trendy - I actually got pointed and laughed at when I took the pictures above and to the right! Get off the Sky Train at Siam Square - walk into the square and you can't miss it!
