Mai Kaydee's Grand Opening and Book Launch

Sommai of Mai Kaydee's opened a new restaurant last night alongside the launch of her new cookery book. The grand opening featured free vegan food, traditional Thai music, Thai dancers, and interviews with the lady herself and Dr. Jacob - a natural lifestyle evangelist.

The new restaurant is just opposite the original restaurant (behind Burger King) but a much bigger and nicer presentation. Seating is on the floor next to low tables - real Thai style. The book offers loads of receipes for excellent vegetarian / vegan Thai cuisine.

An excellent spread - all free… so of course, lots of people attended!

Traditional Thai dancers and Thai music - the restaurant's owner Sommai says she will organize events like this on a regular basis from now on.

Dotcher Jacob Vadakkanchery from Cochin, Kerala, India was present to discuss his philosophies on health and eating and took questions from the audience. Dotcher Jacob offers a range of courses and treatments at centers in India and Thailand - see http://www.naturelifehospital.org/

It may have been above some people's heads! Nice restaurant though, eh?
