Travel Guide! KhaoSanRoad.com has developed a new section
for our site, and we would like you to make a contribution. We aim to make KhaoSanRoad.com's
Travel Guide a unique collection of information and details on places to visit
and things to do in Thailand, developed by the people who have been there and
done that - our visitors. If you have a favorite place you want to tell the Khao
San Road community about, this is your opportunity. How
do I make a contribution? The first thing to do is register.

 1.
Try to give the place you are writing about the exact name. Although this might
be difficult because there may be many ways to spell the same thing (Wat Phra
Keaw v's Wat Phra Keaw for instance) perhaps take a look around on the Internet
to see which is the most common spelling. 2. At present you are only allowed
1,500 characters to write about the place you have chosen. This may change in
the future so look in the little box on the left to see what the current allocation
is. 3. Use the drop down box to choose the category you require. If the
correct category is not available you will have to move it into 'Hold'. Click
on the link under the drop down box and an email form will appear. Use this form
to request the category you require. 4. There are many sorts of places you
might visit, some will have an address, some will not. For example, a department
store will have an exact address, while a beach certainly will not. If the place
you are writing about does have a proper address, you can include it here. 5.
Regardless of whether the place has an address you must add a country (on Thailand
is listed at present). 6. Once you have added a country, you must then
add a 'city' - some places listed are not really cities but areas; choose the
one that best describes the geographical location of where you are writing about. 7.
The province or region can sometimes be difficult if you don't know. For example,
Pattaya is a city in a province called Chonburi while Bangkok is both a city and
a province. If you really don't know you can leave this out. 8. Again, a
postcode is only required if the place you are writing about has a genuine address
and if you are sure about it. 9. Likewise with telephone numbers, fax numbers,
email addresses and websites - some places may have all of these, other might
not. If not, don't worry. 10. If you have a map of the place you are writing
about you can include it here. You can enter it as a JPEG graphic - please avoid
other formats. If you submit an image please make sure it is no larger than 400
pixels across and 500 deep. Please do not take maps from other websites. They
are proprietary and websites usually invest a lot of money to create them. 11.
Finally, please add you pictures. Please don't make them too big - 300-350 pixels
is fine - and please keep them to JPEG format. Once you have done all this,
please click on 'Submit'. Your listing may take a few seconds to load, so don't
worry if you don't know what is happening. A notification will appear when it
has been submitted. You will not see you listing immediately. It will be placed
in a queue until a member of the khaoSanRoad.com team inspects, edits and approves
it. Thanks for taking the time to read thisÂ
And thanks for anything
you might contribute. Let's make this the best user-driven Travel
guide on the Internet! John@KSR |
