The School of
International Training (SIT) has been a leader in the field of Teaching English
to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) for more than 30 years and is recognized
worldwide for the excellence of its teacher training programs.
The SIT TESOL
Certificate Course provides participants with professional knowledge and skills
for teaching English as a second language. In addition, the course offers participants
the tools for their own reflection and professional development.
In Thailand,
the SIT TESOL course is offered four times each year at AUA's Rajadamri campus.

The course provides
practical training through teaching demonstartions, lesson planning and analysis,
teaching practice and feedback. The course takes a brief look at second language
acquisitions through the experience of being a learner. Paticipanst then examine
specific teaching areas and apply the insights they gain to their daily practice
of teaching adult learners of second languages. Participants gain skills in analysis
through examining their lessons with SIT teacher trainers.
The
innovative SIT TESOL course curriculum was designed by SIT faculty and based on
humanistic, experiential and progressive teaching.
The Teacher
Education Department of AUA entered into a cooperative arrangemnet with the School
of International Training to offer a 130-hour TESOL training program for prospectives
teachers of English. Teachers competing the course receive the SIT TESOL certificate.
