Lamphu House off of Soi Rambutri Road (just after 7-eleven) to the left of the Wat offers great accommodation. Lamphu House is very clean and nicely furnished guesthouse/hotel with super friendly staff. A great place to stay if you are tired of staying in regular guest houses with cold showers but aren't quite ready to spend $100 US a night or leave the Khao San area. Close to Burger King. One of the bigger places in the area with different room options from single fan to triple aircon. Elodie wrote: "My first time in Thailand we stayed for 5 nights in Bangkok, on Khao San Road at the Classic Inn. The rooms are clean with private bathrooms and very nice staff who keep your bags safe if you want to go out of Bangkok for a few days.”

Siam Oriental Inn has offered value accommodation on Khao San Road for around 10 years. They have a wide range of rooms : single rooms (no window) with a fan, private bathroom and cold shower (280 Baht a night), going up to Deluxe rooms (window and front view of Khao San Road) for 1-2 people with air-conditioning, fan, private bathroom with hot shower and free breakfast coupons (700 Baht a night). They have CCTV for your protection and 24-hour security for your convenience. Overseas calls available as is luggage storage at 10 Baht for half a day and 20 Baht for a full day (for up to 3 month's storage). Siam Oriental Inn has an excellent restaurant and Internet cafe. Room prices around 500 Baht. This is a great place, well organized, and you couldn't get closer to the action.

New Siam 1 is a nice, safe establishment with very friendly and helpful staff. The reception has a warm welcome for you. New and clean - white tiled floors, screens on all windows and balconies to keep the bugs out. Comfortable beds, TV with good movie channels, electronic lock safe – what more could you ask for? The restaurant has a good varied menu to choose from (Paad Thai is great here). Great central location that is good for shopping and easy to access the river taxi and buses. This is a simple budget guest house with a range of rooms including rooms for three people, a regular room for two people, and a small single room for one person. Rooms with fan or air-conditioning, private attached or shared bathrooms are also available. Restaurant, coffee bar and Internet cafe.

With sixteen rooms, one of the larger guesthouses on Khao San Road. Double and triple rooms available, only one room has air-conditioning. Share showers (5 rooms to 2 showers ratio). Excellent restaurant downstairs serving Thai and European dishes. Bar sells beer and spirits. At night as they show blockbuster films on the big screen and other screens around the cafe with surround sound as well. It's great entertainment, especially as they don't charge for watching the films either. Just have a drink or surf the net. Very hospitable service.

The staff have very rarely changed since 1999 (our first visit) and even after a year break from visiting they always remember us which gives us a feeling like we are part of there family. The accommodation is very inexpensive and as it has never really changed (apart from the eating area) it is how we will always remember Khao San Road. The staff are the most friendliest in the area and are always there to assist any problem whatsoever. "
