Then stay at the Harn House just off Khao Sarn Rd. along the little Soi that runs behind Khao Sarn on the far end from the police station. The rooms are standard fare, nothing really special in that regard - prices vary between 100 Baht for a small room with fan and no window, to 500 Baht for a great little self-contained private room at the back with its own entrance. The very best thing about this place is the level of honesty employed by the owner/manager of this place. Her name is Sumana and she runs a safe and secure place. You can count on this woman's word being iron clad. The place is sometimes a little run down but Sumana makes up for any deficiencies with who she is and how she treats her guests.”

Close to Burger King. One of the bigger places in the area with different room options from single fan to triple aircon. Elodie wrote: "My first time in Thailand we stayed for 5 nights in Bangkok, on Khao San Road at the Classic Inn. The rooms are clean with private bathrooms and very nice staff who keep your bags safe if you want to go out of Bangkok for a few days.”

With sixteen rooms, one of the larger guesthouses on Khao San Road. Double and triple rooms available, only one room has air-conditioning. Share showers (5 rooms to 2 showers ratio). Excellent restaurant downstairs serving Thai and European dishes. Bar sells beer and spirits. At night as they show blockbuster films on the big screen and other screens around the cafe with surround sound as well. It's great entertainment, especially as they don't charge for watching the films either. Just have a drink or surf the net. Very hospitable service.

The staff have very rarely changed since 1999 (our first visit) and even after a year break from visiting they always remember us which gives us a feeling like we are part of there family. The accommodation is very inexpensive and as it has never really changed (apart from the eating area) it is how we will always remember Khao San Road. The staff are the most friendliest in the area and are always there to assist any problem whatsoever. "
